The application possibilities for the chemical-free elimination of pathogens in water using UV light are being expanded once again by the water treatment specialist Grünbeck. The new violiQ:UV disinfection system family removes 99.99 percent of all germs even at SSK254 values of up to 3.2 m‑1.
Killing any pathogens in the water using UV light is an environmentally friendly technology, as it does not require the use of chemicals. This process for treating drinking water has already proven its worth many times over — in domestic applications as well as in domestic water supplies and industrial applications.
In the new disinfection system series, the company has further increased the disinfection performance. The systems disinfect clear, turbid, iron- and manganese-free drinking water as well as microbiologically contaminated water. In the process, the high-performance UV emitter still inactivates 99.99 percent of all pathogens in the water, even at SSK254 values of up to 3.2 m‑1. It is already certified in accordance with DIN standard 19294–1, which has been valid since 2020. The systems comprise only a few components and are very easy to install according to the plug-and-play principle.
All three drinking water versions for flow rates between 2.0 and 8.5 m³/h are DVGW-certified, have integrated monitoring of the UV lamp and a safety solenoid valve. They thus meet the highest safety standards. Particularly noteworthy is the long service life of the UV lamp, which only loses power after up to 16,000 operating hours.
In addition to the UV systems for the disinfection of drinking water, six permeate-resistant industrial versions are also available for flow rates between 3.3 and 12 m³/h. Depending on customer requirements, the disinfection performance of the lamps can also be monitored in these systems.
