Optimize work processes, minimize thermal bridges and save time and money at the same time? That’s possible with the new attic insulation from JOMA Dämmstoffwerk GmbH. The innovation from the Allgäu-based quality manufacturer consists of the innovative AirPor insulation material from JOMA, ensures a perfect transition from the facade to the flat roof and thus reduces geometric thermal bridges to a minimum. At the same time, the new prefabricated element can be installed by just one trade in a single operation — making the execution of the flat roof connection easier and safer than ever before.
“We have plenty of experience in planning and implementing flat and sloped roof insulation. As a system provider, it was only logical for this reason to also develop a solution for the attic. We have the high standard of offering our customers real added value in practice with our solutions. With the attic insulation, we have once again succeeded in doing so. It not only ensures a connection free of thermal bridges, but can also be implemented quickly, easily and particularly economically.”

Installation in a single operation
In practice, parapets have so far usually been formed in several work steps: Either by means of wooden planks or with concrete. First of all, a concrete upstand is required, after which the insulation is fitted in a time-consuming process. With the new innovation, these steps are now no longer necessary. This is because the new parapet insulation arrives at the construction site ready to use and adapted to individual requirements. On site, it is therefore only glued and screwed into place. This means that only one trade is needed for installation — the same craftsman who applies the flat roof, for example, also installs the parapet insulation. This saves time and money.
The system component of the Allgäu-based quality manufacturer consists of the innovative insulation material AirPor and achieves the thermal conductivity level WLS 032. AirPor consists of 98 percent air and is 100 percent recyclable. Its demonstrably high eco- and cost-efficiency and ease of handling make it a unique material that is versatile, water-repellent, ageing-resistant, stable and dimensionally stable.
Insulation structures up to 50 cm high
The new parapet insulation is prefabricated at the Holzgünz plant — and can also be customized to meet individual requirements on request. It is then delivered to the construction site as a complete system. A basic and a top-up element are available. With the basic element, a parapet height of 25 cm is possible; together with the additional extension element, this is up to 50 cm. In practice, parapet insulation offers further advantages: For example, it can be plastered on its outer side and the slope on the upper side is also already finished. A P7 board also serves here and on the inside of the system component as a screwable substrate for covering and sealing.
