Now, a climate-neutral construction project is being built in the model region of Freiburg: Together with the multiple award-winning architect Rolf Disch, Solarsiedlung GmbH is building four plus-energy climate houses in Schallstadt. The building concept stands for consistent climate protection and sustainability with the highest level of living comfort. The comfort ventilation system from Meltem makes a significant contribution to minimal energy consumption and a healthy indoor climate.
The buildings in KfW-40 plus design cover their energy requirements entirely from renewable sources. In addition to self-generated electricity from photovoltaics, the one to five-room residential units benefit from a promising concept that includes ventilation with heat recovery in addition to heat and hot water generation. The high-quality equipment therefore includes comfort ventilation units from Meltem. They are used in the M‑WRG-II E‑T-FC design with humidity and CO2 control.
Installation is wall-integrated in the U2 variant with a two-room solution. After interior installation, they are almost invisible — only an attractive fascia panel remains. The supply and exhaust air rooms — such as interior bathrooms — are connected with flex pipes. In this way, four rooms can be ventilated and deaerated extremely economically with two units. Another advantage of wall-integrated installation is the very low sound pressure level during operation.
The M‑WRG-II units easily meet the increased sound insulation requirements from outside at 65 dB as standard. In addition, the units are functionally coupled with the smoke detectors in the apartments. This ensures automatic shutdown of the ventilation system in the event of an alarm. In this way, Meltem sets standards for the requirements of ventilation technology in residential construction — both in terms of living comfort and high cost-effectiveness in terms of investment costs.
