Successfully fighting viruses with UV‑C radiation

Com­plete rooms can now be dis­in­fect­ed with a device devel­oped by Hart­mann GmbH and thus also be effec­tive against the Coro­na virus.

The HA-UV 3D room dis­in­fec­tor is designed as an easy-to-oper­ate stand-alone device: Switch on and go! The 360-degree all-round emit­ter sup­ple­ments the nor­mal­ly time-con­sum­ing and labour-inten­sive dis­in­fec­tion of hos­pi­tals, nurs­ing homes, doc­tors’ surg­eries and oth­er rooms that are poten­tial­ly con­t­a­m­i­nat­ed with pathogens. The dis­in­fec­tion itself takes place unsu­per­vised, so that no staff are required. No chem­i­cals are used in the dis­in­fec­tion process — so the room can be entered and used again imme­di­ate­ly after dis­in­fec­tion and the envi­ron­ment is also pleased.

The light source used in this room dis­in­fec­tion unit emits high-ener­gy UV‑C light with a wave­length of 254 nm, which has proven to be par­tic­u­lar­ly effec­tive against virus­es, bac­te­ria and oth­er pathogens. In the mean­time, the device has been suc­cess­ful­ly used in numer­ous facil­i­ties, such as nurs­ing homes and cut­ting plants.
