Strengthening of additive manufacturing business in Italy

Trumpf, a high-tech com­pa­ny, is strength­en­ing its Addi­tive Man­u­fac­tur­ing divi­sion in Italy and expand­ing its den­tal and med­ical busi­ness: As announced last year, the Ditzin­gen-based com­pa­ny has com­plete­ly tak­en over the joint ven­ture Trumpf Sis­ma s.r.l. from its Ital­ian part­ner Sis­ma s.p.a. at the end of 2021. Until now, the com­pa­ny held 55 per­cent of the shares. In addi­tion, the Group will con­tin­ue Sis­ma’s LMF (Laser Met­al Fusion) busi­ness in the indus­tri­al, den­tal and med­ical tech­nol­o­gy markets.

The for­mer joint ven­ture will be renamed TRUMPF Addi­tive Man­u­fac­tur­ing Italia s.r.l. and will retain its head­quar­ters in Schio, north­ern Italy. There, around 60 employ­ees work in the devel­op­ment and pro­duc­tion of met­al 3D print­ing machines with Laser Met­al Fusion technology.

Simul­ta­ne­ous­ly with the sale of the joint ven­ture and its own LMF divi­sion, Sis­ma plans to focus on the jew­el­ry and fash­ion indus­try in the future and dis­trib­ute LMF machines for these markets.
