Trumpf, a high-tech company, is strengthening its Additive Manufacturing division in Italy and expanding its dental and medical business: As announced last year, the Ditzingen-based company has completely taken over the joint venture Trumpf Sisma s.r.l. from its Italian partner Sisma s.p.a. at the end of 2021. Until now, the company held 55 percent of the shares. In addition, the Group will continue Sisma’s LMF (Laser Metal Fusion) business in the industrial, dental and medical technology markets.
The former joint venture will be renamed TRUMPF Additive Manufacturing Italia s.r.l. and will retain its headquarters in Schio, northern Italy. There, around 60 employees work in the development and production of metal 3D printing machines with Laser Metal Fusion technology.
Simultaneously with the sale of the joint venture and its own LMF division, Sisma plans to focus on the jewelry and fashion industry in the future and distribute LMF machines for these markets.
