New Hydrogenation test center

Tri­als in the hydro­gena­tion test cen­ter allow the eval­u­a­tion of reli­able data for the design and scale up of pro­duc­tion plants. In the hydro­gena­tion test cen­ter man­u­fac­tur­ing process­es can be inves­ti­gat­ed by vari­a­tion of process para­me­ters like pres­sure, tem­per­a­ture and agi­ta­tor speed or by vari­a­tion of recipes and oper­a­tion modes. Also the design can be mod­i­fied, e.g. the impeller type or reac­tor inter­nals as addi­tion­al heat exchang­ers, in order to opti­mize the process tar­gets like hydro­gena­tion time, yield or selectivity.
For this pur­pose, Eka­to con­ducts exper­i­ments in batch sizes of 3 and 60 liter. The reac­tors may be equipped with stan­dard impellers as well as with the spe­cif­ic, high effi­cient Eka­to gassing impellers Phase­jet and Gas­jet. The 3 liter reac­tor units can be trans­port­ed togeth­er with an inte­grat­ed con­trol unit and a heat­ing-cool­ing-sys­tem, so it is pos­si­ble to con­duct exper­i­ments at customer’s site. The mate­r­i­al of con­struc­tion is stain­less steel 316L. The 60 liter unit com­pris­es the reac­tor, a ves­sel for the start­ing prod­uct, a fil­tra­tion unit and a fil­trate tank. Through incor­po­ra­tion into a process con­trol sys­tem, the var­i­ous process steps can be auto­mat­ed and repro­ducibly car­ried out.
