Mobile real-time app for more transparency

Engi­neer­ing spe­cial­ist in-tech now offers the intel­li­gent app easy­mon for all Beck­hoff con­trollers with Automa­tion Device Spec­i­fi­ca­tion (ADS) inter­face. With easy­mon, users can now access data val­ues of the ADS con­trollers live and are informed in real time if man­u­al inter­ven­tion is nec­es­sary. As of now, the soft­ware is avail­able for down­load on the easy­mon land­ing page.

Plant status at a glance at all times

The name says it all at in-tech: The instal­la­tion and com­mis­sion­ing of easy­mon were delib­er­ate­ly designed by the devel­op­ers to be very sim­ple and intu­itive. With easy­mon, plant para­me­ters that should not exceed a cer­tain val­ue, for exam­ple, can be mon­i­tored using a smart­phone. For this pur­pose, the easy­mon con­nec­tor access­es the ADS inter­face of the con­troller to read out vari­ables from the pro­gram.” A con­ve­nient web inter­face can be used to select data points to be mon­i­tored and to set thresh­olds and cri­te­ria for noti­fi­ca­tion. In addi­tion, the easy­mon app is installed on a mobile device that com­mu­ni­cates with the machine via a cloud service.

Early detection of deviations and problems.

“With the easy­mon app, the user can inde­pen­dent­ly define the events for which the sys­tem should auto­mat­i­cal­ly con­tact him — and can devote him­self to oth­er tasks in the mean­time,” he says. The mobile device dis­plays the cur­rent val­ues live and noti­fies the user as soon as the pre­de­fined thresh­old val­ues are reached. The user receives a warn­ing if the val­ues are exceed­ed and can thus detect at an ear­ly stage whether there is a prob­lem on the machine and proac­tive­ly rec­ti­fy the devi­a­tion or damage.

Can be used worldwide and secure data transmission

With easy­mon, sev­er­al plants can be mon­i­tored with one app as well as one plant with dif­fer­ent mobile devices. Due to cloud com­pat­i­bil­i­ty, the app can be applied world­wide and dif­fer­ent plants at dif­fer­ent loca­tions can be mon­i­tored from one place. Data trans­mis­sion is encrypt­ed and stored on servers in the EU.

Transparent pricing model and optional extensions possible

The soft­ware is adapt­able to dif­fer­ent indus­tri­al sys­tems and can also be extend­ed to imple­ment indi­vid­ual “pre­dic­tive main­te­nance” appli­ca­tions, for exam­ple. Each user can select the offer that suits him best and pays a flat rate per month — with no hid­den costs.
