Mobile master data capture as a full service 

Now, Kom­mis­sion­ier- und Hand­habung­stech­nik GmbH (KHT) offers a mobile mas­ter data ser­vice. The one-time or recur­ring record­ing of arti­cle dimen­sions is usu­al­ly car­ried out on site at the cus­tomer’s premis­es by indi­vid­ual arrange­ment. The expert for mea­sur­ing tech­nol­o­gy pro­vides trained per­son­nel as well as the ful­ly auto­mat­ed Mul­ti­Scan acqui­si­tion sta­tion itself. On request, KHT can also sup­ply high-qual­i­ty prod­uct pho­tos, includ­ing crop­ping, for online use.

Data acqui­si­tion is car­ried out by trained per­son­nel from the Gelsenkirchen-based mechan­i­cal engi­neer­ing com­pa­ny and usu­al­ly on-site at the cus­tomer’s premis­es. For this pur­pose, the mobile coor­di­nate mea­sur­ing machine Mul­ti­Scan is equipped with a close-meshed infrared light grid as well as a cal­i­brat­able scale and records even com­pli­cat­ed prod­uct shapes in a mat­ter of sec­onds. Bahlmann: “We clar­i­fy all details and the logis­ti­cal require­ments in advance so that we can tai­lor the process to indi­vid­ual needs. Our cus­tomers only have to pro­vide the items to be read in, and we take care of the rest.” 

In addi­tion to dimen­sions and weight, oth­er pack­ag­ing units, iden­ti­fi­ca­tion pho­tos or han­dling attrib­ut­es such as fragili­ty or stack­a­bil­i­ty can be record­ed. “Clean mas­ter data ensures time and cost sav­ings, more flex­i­ble process­es, and also enables a reduc­tion in pack­ag­ing mate­r­i­al through the selec­tion of ship­ment-relat­ed car­ton sizes,” empha­sizes Bahlmann. This also pays off in terms of more sus­tain­able ship­ping logistics. 

For prod­ucts weigh­ing up to 25 kilo­grams and mea­sur­ing 50x30x70 cen­time­ters, KHT pro­duces high-res­o­lu­tion prod­uct pho­tos on demand. “The shots can be cre­at­ed in 2D or as a 360-degree pho­to and deliv­ered in var­i­ous out­put for­mats for easy web­shop inte­gra­tion,” says Bahlmann.
