A lot has happened among suppliers of environmental protection solutions since the last IFAT. At COALSI’s booth B3.428, you will now find new, legally compliant bait stations as well as an expanded range of odor filters for sewers and wastewater treatment plants.
A small sensation is the new bait station FZV30 developed by pest controller Andreas Vollack, which the company sells. It was tested a few days ago by the Federal Government for the control of harmful rodents in accordance with § 18 Infection Protection Act and found to be good.
It is the design that makes it so special: even in the event of flooding, it is ensured that the poisonous baits (water-polluting rodenticides) are not washed out. This is the Achilles’ heel of conventional methods on the market. In addition, the bait station is considered durable because it does not require any vulnerable mechanics, electrics or electronics. The station can even be securely fastened to sloping berms. The bait station is loaded from road level without direct manual contact by means of a rotating rod. The Bavarians will also be showing road gullies with integrated bait stations: a completely new option for rodent control that was previously unavailable to municipalities. Everything can be monitored electronically via QR codes.
The company has also gone one step further in combating sewage odors. The product range has been expanded. The manufacturer sees its hybrid triple filters as a step forward in terms of effectiveness compared with the market. They consist of a biological, chemical and mechanical filter stage. The highlight is the “odor-eating” bacteria. They metabolize the odorants and thus eliminate them completely. The filters are available for manholes and street drains as well as for pipe mounting. They are not pathogenic to humans, plants or animals and are therefore harmless to health.
For sewage treatment plants, pumping stations and transfer points, the “Volumenmax” is a large-scale system that is also used in industry. It is superior to conventional solutions in many scenarios and is often more cost-effective, it said. Visitors to the booth can find out about an interesting further development with new application scenarios.
