CompuGroup Medical SE & Co. KGaA (CGM), one of the world’s leading e‑health companies, is acquiring KMS Vertrieb und Services AG (KMS), one of the leading providers of data warehouse solutions in the healthcare sector in Germany.
Founded in 1996 and headquartered in Unterhaching, Germany, KMS has established itself as the market leader for data warehouse solutions in the healthcare sector in Germany with more than 450 projects. The company’s main products are eisTIK® and EYE ON HEALTH®.
The particular strength of the eisTIK® data warehouse system lies in the explorative analysis, depth of detail and consistency of the data generated from various upstream systems. A highly specialized team of consultants with many years of industry experience makes an important contribution to turning data into answers.
With its main product, the company also offers its customers the option of a regional benchmark or targeted geomarketing. For this purpose, data from a wide variety of sources is determined and made available on a daily basis in a central knowledge platform, e.g. regional comparative analyses of case numbers, catchment areas for determining patient potential, etc. The linking of company key figures with socio-demographic information allows the targeted definition of strategic company goals.
CGM will market the KMS solutions independently as well as integrate them into its portfolio. By combining eisTIK® with CGM software, administrative hospital data will be enriched with medical data from the treatment context. The result is an information and management tool that gives highly specialized hospitals and healthcare groups alike an all-round view of their hospital operations.
“Comprehensive high-quality data to support clinical, administrative and financial decisions is increasingly becoming a competitive advantage of a facility, in the clinic as well as in the doctor’s office or a social institution. In the future, if you really think in terms of health regions and want to bring together and use all the data across sectors, then what we’re trying to do together here is exactly the right way to go.”
- Alois G. Steidel, founder and chief executive officer (CEO)
“By combining medical and nursing data with administrative or business data, a comprehensive multidimensional picture is created across all hospital areas. Process metrics make complex interrelationships transparent and provide important insights for optimizing clinical workflows,” explains Hannes Reichl, Managing Director Inpatient and Social Care at CGM. “We see the future of the portfolio not only in the clinical area, but just as much in MVZs, large medical practices and social care facilities.”
