New in the Grundfos range is the MTD series: A multi-stage immersible pump equipped with semi-open impellers. Thus the pump conveys abrasive solids up to a size of 25 mm.
The series is available for several pressure ranges (2/3/4 impeller stages) and immersion lengths (230/280/330 mm) with flow rates between 50 and 300 l/min. To ensure the stability of the pump, the impellers, the volute casing and the pump housing are made of robust cast iron. All surfaces are galvanically coated for corrosion protection.
Of course a pump with half-open impellers can not shine with its efficiency – the design of the MTD pump ensures stability is their priority. But the development engineers have realized what made sense in this regard: The robust leakage-free shaft seal ensures high hydraulic efficiency. And high-efficiency motors of the IE3 classification ensure low operating costs.

Maintenance-friendly positive displacement pumps
Netzsch Pumps & Systems will exhibit their positive displacement pumps’ range from 1 – 5 April 2019 at the industrial fair in Hannover. In addition to the Notos screw pumps, the comapny also presents the Nemo progressing cavity pumps and Tornado rotary lobe pumps. A new size has been developed for the Tornado rotary lobe pump in all-metal for the process industry.
Pumps have to be reliable, low-maintenance and long-lasting as the heart of plants. With the modern positive displacement pump technology you are well equipped. The compact Tornado rotary lobe pumps, the proven Nemo progressing cavity pumps and the powerful Notos multi screw pumps reliably and safely pump different and most difficult media. With the new FSIP technology (Full Service In Place), Netzsch puts highest maintenance-friendliness and reliability first.
With the new size of the Tornado all-metal pump 06/300, up to 300 m³ / h at a pressure of up to 6 bar can be conveyed. The ball passage is 66 mm.

Robustness and efficiency
Expansion of the FDS range with an innovative drive
Fristam Pumps is expanding its range of hygienic twin screw pumps to include a Twin Speed Gearbox (TSG) model. The TSG model is available as an additional option for all standard sizes in the FDS range. In terms of its construction, it is a simple and robust mechanical drive solution with various advantages compared with the purely standard three-phase or servo motors.
For applications in which pumps need to cope with extreme speed and flow rate ranges, the new Fristam FDS TSG offers a very simple, robust, and economical solution. This design ensures that the FDS twin screw pumps can fully exploit their technically feasible speed range without being subject to the limitations of a standard motor. Another important advantage is that by using the Twin Speed Gearbox in the FDS, the installed motor power can be reduced by 1-2 sizes. Thus, it not only lowers the investment costs, but also improves the energy efficiency of the powertrain across the entire speed range of the pumps. And last but not least, this new design facilitates better and more stable pump regulation, since it works in the “comfort” frequency range of a standard three-phase motor. The first successful installations in the dairy industry have shown that by using FDS TSG in processed cheese production, for example, the motor size and thus required drive power could be reduced by up to 30 percent under otherwise identical conveying and cleaning conditions.
