The wholesaler DRAPALIN from Munich now has the first EU-GMP compliant medical cannabis strain from Africa in its portfolio. The medicinal cannabis produced in the landlocked South African country of Lesotho is currently being imported exclusively to Germany.
Transparency is a top priority for the company. Detailed information on the manufacturer, country of origin and production processes is made available. After all, this is a herbal medicine whose quality is significantly influenced by the place where it grows, the cultivation conditions and, not least, the philosophy underlying its cultivation.
For this reason, the Group is proud to have gained MG Health, a professional and reliable producer from Lesotho, as a partner. The company cultivates land at an altitude of 2000 meters, in a mountainous and pristine environment, completely isolated from any form of commercialized industry. Here you will find optimal conditions for growing medicinal cannabis: long sunny days, dry air and the purest water.
With the support of its partner, MG Health succeeded in becoming the first African company ever to be recognized as a producer of non-irradiated medical cannabis according to EU GMP guidelines in Germany. This also means that it has assured quality and production standards in the field of standardized medicinal plant cultivation — one of the prerequisites for exporting the product to Europe.
All sides benefit from the partnership. MG Health was able to achieve numerous improvements for the local population on site in Marakabei through its commitment. More than 400 jobs have been created and training centers and a library have been built at the company’s own expense, which has noticeably increased the school completion rate.
“We are incredibly proud to be the first company to import medical cannabis from Africa. In cooperation with our new partner, we have made history with this. It’s a cross of the California strain White Lemon and the local strain Marakabei Local with a high THC content.”
