To ensure optimum operation of wastewater treatment plants, primary and secondary clarifiers as well as digestion towers must be professionally cleaned on a regular basis and freed from harmful sludge. The Swabian company Industriewartung Süd offers an effective method for this and has been relying on the reliable and robust submersible pumps from AURAS in Frankfurt for years.
After a certain time, harmful sludge and debris settle in the primary and secondary clarifiers as well as digesters of wastewater treatment plants, which must be disposed of at regular intervals. Industriewartung Süd from Dormettingen in the Zollernalbkreis district specializes in sludge dewatering and disposal: With vehicles specially designed for this purpose and the submersible wastewater pumps from AURAS, the cleaning company can not only remove these sludges in a cost-effective and environmentally friendly manner, but also make them additionally transportable by extracting water.
“We work with the P 40 CS submersible wastewater pump from AURAS because it safely and reliably pumps wastewater containing particles up to 44 millimeters in size,” explains Sabrina Bethmann, Managing Director of Industriewartung Süd. The P 40 CS pumps the water-sludge mixture about 5 to 10 meters up from the clarifier or digestion tower and then 20 to 150 meters into a container. There, the debris is screened out and the residual water, freed from the sludge, is pumped back into the basin.
Robust and safe in operation
With its specially developed, robust and abrasion-resistant impeller, the powerful P 40 CS submersible sewage pump is particularly suitable for demanding drainage projects in municipalities and sewage treatment plants. “The pump weighs 62 kilograms and can be transported and used by one person with the practically shaped carrying handle and appropriate aids,” emphasizes Peter Schmidt, member of the management team at AURAS. Its motor is equipped as standard with a motor protection plug with on/off switch. A phase inverter and a signal lamp for rotating field control provide additional safety. Due to the side pump outlet, the P 40 CS is also easy to clean and designed to be relatively inexpensive and easy to maintain by skilled personnel. All individual parts are replaceable and available from stock.
Almost exclusively pumps from AURAS
Industriewartung Süd has been active in the industrial cleaning sector for more than 30 years and, with its approximately 60 employees, solves the most difficult cleaning problems for machines and systems on a daily basis. In doing so, it avoids chemical cleaning methods and solvents wherever possible. AURAS Pumpen has been a partner of the cleaning company for many years and provides an important part of the equipment. With forty pumps, Industriewartung Süd uses almost exclusively pumps from AURAS, of which around twenty are P 40 CS.
