Filtech 2019 — Filtration and separation technology

Thanks to the Fil­tech trade fair, which takes place from 22^nd to 24^th of Octo­ber 2019, Cologne will once again become the meet­ing point of the glob­al fil­tra­tion and sep­a­ra­tion indus­try with users from all rel­e­vant sec­tors. Fil­ter solu­tions often lead a niche exis­tence at oth­er trade fairs; at Fil­tech it is just the oppo­site, here they take cen­ter stage.

Fil­tra­tion and sep­a­ra­tion tech­niques are among the most impor­tant basic pro­ce­dur­al oper­a­tions in all process indus­tries. Most raw mate­ri­als and prod­ucts are mix­tures of sub­stances and must there­fore be fil­tered or sep­a­rat­ed for fur­ther pro­cess­ing. Anoth­er impor­tant aspect is the need for clean air in pro­duc­tion and pack­ag­ing envi­ron­ments to avoid con­t­a­m­i­na­tion. In times of buzz­words, be it dig­i­ti­za­tion, IoT or 5G, we must not for­get these basic phys­i­cal meth­ods. Fil­tech 2019 is cen­tered on this basic need of the process indus­tries, includ­ing the ones requir­ing a hygien­ic pro­duc­tion envi­ron­ment like the phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal and food & bev­er­age industries.

The orga­niz­er expects more than 400 exhibitors on 14,000 square meters of exhi­bi­tion space. Fil­tech con­tin­ues to grow — also in terms of vis­i­tor num­bers. In addi­tion to the exhi­bi­tion and the spe­cial­ist con­fer­ence, Fil­tech also offers two short cours­es on Octo­ber 21^st.

Short Courses

The short cours­es are aimed at engi­neers, sci­en­tists, man­ag­ing direc­tors and tech­ni­cal staff. The cours­es are infor­ma­tive and rel­e­vant to any­one involved in the devel­op­ment, research, pur­chas­ing or appli­ca­tion of fil­tra­tion and sep­a­ra­tion solu­tions. Oper­a­tional engi­neers, tech­ni­cians and oper­at­ing per­son­nel can imple­ment the acquired knowl­edge direct­ly in prac­tice. Stu­dents and PhD stu­dents will appre­ci­ate the intro­duc­tion of tech­nol­o­gy by experts.

The course on “Sol­id / Liq­uid Sep­a­ra­tion” pro­vides a com­pre­hen­sive overview of process­es that are part of sol­id / liq­uid sep­a­ra­tion. The empha­sis is placed on prac­ti­cal aspects, sup­ple­ment­ed by rel­e­vant the­o­ret­i­cal information.
