The new pumps in the HiScroll ATEX range are suitable for handling potentially explosive gases, as they meet the requirements of the European directive ATEX II 3/-G Ex h IIC T4 Gc X +5 °C ≤ Ta ≤ +40 °C . Depending on the application requirements, the ATEX directives divide into different categories the conditions under which the pumps may be used. The HiScroll ATEX corresponds to equipment category 3G for the media-contacting area and fulfills temperature class T4. All gases up to and including explosion group IIC can be pumped. Accordingly, even the pumping of hydrogen is possible.
With these features, the HiScroll ATEX covers many application areas in the fields of analytics, industry or research & development. Explosion-proof devices are used in many areas, for example in industrial processes such as the generation and pumping of hydrogen. However, the HiScroll ATEX also finds its application in laboratories where media containing solvents are pumped, which can generate ignitable vapors. Certification is achieved by the HiScroll ATEX having no ignition source for potentially hazardous gas mixtures.
Pfeiffer Vacuum scroll pumps offer high pumping speed when pumping down from atmospheric pressure. The completely oil-free and hermetically sealed vacuum pumps achieve nominal pumping speeds of 6 to 20 m³/h, depending on the version.
A compact design and very quiet, low-vibration operation are their special features (<47 dB[A], in stand-by mode <42 dB[A]). In addition, a high level of water vapor tolerance is ensured; condensation in the vacuum pump is thus sustainably avoided. The two-stage gas ballast valve allows individual response to the respective process requirements.
The pumps can be easily connected to other Pfeiffer Vacuum products, such as turbopumps, via RS-485, EtherCat or ProfiNet, as well as operated with a higher-level control system or a PC. The intelligent interface enables, among other things, the use of speed control mode or the innovative stand-by mode, which enables the pump to be operated in a manner that is optimally adapted to the application.
This also minimizes wear in the pump and extends maintenance cycles. The proven quality with high-quality and durable components ensures a long service life, lower operating costs and a reduced environmental impact. The easy maintenance of the pumps not only enables short service times, but also the highest possible availability. The built-in safety valve and the self-regulating operation of the pump ensure safe use.
The powerful yet efficient drive features up to 15% higher efficiency compared to conventional drives. This enables maximum performance at lower temperatures and thus simpler and more cost-effective cooling of systems and equipment.
