At the beginning of January, Endress+Hauser merged its two subsidiaries SpectraSensors Inc. and Kaiser Optical Systems Inc. into the newly formed company Endress+Hauser Optical Analysis. By bundling its expertise in the field of laser-based measurement technology, the group of companies is strengthening its focus on laboratory and process analysis and will be able to provide customers with even better support for analytical tasks in the future.
For years, the company has had a strategic focus on process and laboratory analysis. The company supports customers from product and process development through to production and brings modern analytical methods and quality measurements to process engineering applications. Success in key markets confirms this approach: the group of companies generates almost a quarter of its sales with analysis technology.
Bundling under a common roof
In order to bundle expertise in laser-based measurement processes and create the basis for sustainable growth, SpectraSensors and Kaiser Optical Systems were merged under the new name Endress+Hauser Optical Analysis on January 1, 2022. Both companies have a long history of innovation and offer market-leading product lines for laser-based optical analysis.
With the acquisition of the two US companies in 2012 and 2013, the Group has brought innovative technologies on board. SpectraSensors’ tunable laser diode absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS) strengthened the Group’s position in gas analysis. Kaiser Optical Systems, a global leader in Raman spectroscopy, has expertise in the analysis of solids, liquids and gases for a variety of applications, including vaccine production.
Offering from the lab to the process
“We want to further develop and expand our offering for laboratory and process analysis. Together, we thus form important elements of our group’s analysis strategy.”
- Dr. Manfred Jagiella
“Our customers expect easy-to-use, robust measuring instruments that fit their applications,” says Managing DirectorJohn Schnake, who will lead the new unit. With its laser-based measurement technologies, Endress+Hauser provides an integrated product portfolio for analysis that accompanies industrial customers from product and process development through quality control to the production process.
Headquarters in Ann Arbor, Michigan/USA
The company is headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan/USA. The Raman spectroscopic instruments are also developed and manufactured there. The TDLAS analyzers will continue to be produced in Rancho Cucamonga, California. The newly formed company has approximately 200 employees. It remains fully owned by the company.
