Bronze rating for excellent sustainability

The inter­na­tion­al rat­ing plat­form Eco­Vadis has award­ed HOYER a bronze medal for its sus­tain­abil­i­ty activ­i­ties. The award is the result of the inter­na­tion­al logis­tics com­pa­ny’s strate­gic efforts to proac­tive­ly ful­fill its respon­si­bil­i­ty with regard to the long-term eco­log­i­cal, eco­nom­ic and eth­i­cal aspects of its cor­po­rate activities.

Pre­vi­ous­ly, indi­vid­ual busi­ness units had been assessed. In 2021, the HOYER Group now under­went the rat­ing process as a whole com­pa­ny for the first time. The bronze medal is proof of the Group’s good indus­try posi­tion­ing. By com­par­i­son, more than 40 per­cent of the par­tic­i­pat­ing logis­tics com­pa­nies did not achieve any award at all.

The HOYER Group sus­tain­abil­i­ty team is guid­ed by the results of the rat­ing to con­tin­u­ous­ly iden­ti­fy fur­ther opti­miza­tion poten­tial and ini­ti­ate addi­tion­al activ­i­ties. Social respon­si­bil­i­ty, envi­ron­men­tal pro­tec­tion and sus­tain­able man­age­ment are firm pil­lars of the HOYER Group’s cor­po­rate activ­i­ties. Sus­tain­abil­i­ty con­sid­er­a­tions there­fore play a guid­ing role in all busi­ness units and links in the sup­ply chain. In 2012, the com­pa­ny estab­lished bind­ing sus­tain­abil­i­ty guide­lines, and since 2015 it has pub­lished a Sus­tain­abil­i­ty Report. A sep­a­rate unit, Group SHEQ (Safe­ty, Health, Envi­ron­ment, Qual­i­ty), is exclu­sive­ly respon­si­ble for improv­ing process­es, safe­ty and qual­i­ty stan­dards with regard to peo­ple and the environment.

Eco­Vadis is one of the world’s largest providers of sus­tain­abil­i­ty rat­ings and eval­u­ates com­pa­nies accord­ing to inter­na­tion­al sus­tain­abil­i­ty stan­dards such as the Glob­al Report­ing Ini­tia­tive, the Unit­ed Nations Glob­al Com­pact and ISO 26000. The Eco­Vadis rat­ing pro­vides cus­tomers and oth­er stake­hold­ers of the com­pa­ny with a reli­able bench­mark for assess­ing the com­pa­ny’s cor­po­rate social respon­si­bil­i­ty efforts.
