The international rating platform EcoVadis has awarded HOYER a bronze medal for its sustainability activities. The award is the result of the international logistics company’s strategic efforts to proactively fulfill its responsibility with regard to the long-term ecological, economic and ethical aspects of its corporate activities.
Previously, individual business units had been assessed. In 2021, the HOYER Group now underwent the rating process as a whole company for the first time. The bronze medal is proof of the Group’s good industry positioning. By comparison, more than 40 percent of the participating logistics companies did not achieve any award at all.
“We are proud of the positive result and use the analysis of the independent EcoVadis experts to become even better.”
- Eric Schlichter, Manager Group Sustainability Forum
The HOYER Group sustainability team is guided by the results of the rating to continuously identify further optimization potential and initiate additional activities. Social responsibility, environmental protection and sustainable management are firm pillars of the HOYER Group’s corporate activities. Sustainability considerations therefore play a guiding role in all business units and links in the supply chain. In 2012, the company established binding sustainability guidelines, and since 2015 it has published a Sustainability Report. A separate unit, Group SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality), is exclusively responsible for improving processes, safety and quality standards with regard to people and the environment.
EcoVadis is one of the world’s largest providers of sustainability ratings and evaluates companies according to international sustainability standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact and ISO 26000. The EcoVadis rating provides customers and other stakeholders of the company with a reliable benchmark for assessing the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts.
