With the claim ‘As individual as your needs’, the company Yaskawa presents current software and hardware solutions in drive and control technology at the “SPS — smart production solutions 2021” (booth 7–340).
The focus of this year’s trade fair appearance is the concept presentation of a completely newly developed automation platform i³ CONTROL including a specially adapted controller generation. Among other things, the first controller of this new platform — the iC9210 — and the newly developed software environment — i³ Engineer — will be presented. This new system is characterized by its open source operating system, openness, flexibility and scalability. The company is also introducing a new frequency inverter specifically for crane operation. Thanks to numerous intelligent functions, this improves productivity, reduces energy and overall costs, enables preventive maintenance measures and increases environmental compatibility.
Technically integrated total solutions
Technically integrated total solutions from a single source are also a topic at the booth: For example, a demo cell ‘Singular Control’ with handling robot and Delta kinematics shows how machine builders and users can implement robots in existing architectures without the need for a special programming device (teachbox) or a proprietary robot programming language. The motion sequence of the individual axes is calculated in the controller’s firmware. The programmer can thus concentrate entirely on the application without having to worry about the underlying complex technology.

With a wide range of products from drives (frequency inverters), motion control (servo drives and servo motors), robotics (Motoman industrial robots, robot systems), control technology, visualization systems and chip solutions (profichip), Yaskawa is one of only a few companies worldwide that can offer components and solutions for almost all industries from a single source.
