An individual solution for every task

With the claim ‘As indi­vid­ual as your needs’, the com­pa­ny Yaskawa presents cur­rent soft­ware and hard­ware solu­tions in dri­ve and con­trol tech­nol­o­gy at the “SPS — smart pro­duc­tion solu­tions 2021” (booth 7–340). 

The focus of this year’s trade fair appear­ance is the con­cept pre­sen­ta­tion of a com­plete­ly new­ly devel­oped automa­tion plat­form i³ CONTROL includ­ing a spe­cial­ly adapt­ed con­troller gen­er­a­tion. Among oth­er things, the first con­troller of this new plat­form — the iC9210 — and the new­ly devel­oped soft­ware envi­ron­ment — i³ Engi­neer — will be pre­sent­ed. This new sys­tem is char­ac­ter­ized by its open source oper­at­ing sys­tem, open­ness, flex­i­bil­i­ty and scal­a­bil­i­ty. The com­pa­ny is also intro­duc­ing a new fre­quen­cy invert­er specif­i­cal­ly for crane oper­a­tion. Thanks to numer­ous intel­li­gent func­tions, this improves pro­duc­tiv­i­ty, reduces ener­gy and over­all costs, enables pre­ven­tive main­te­nance mea­sures and increas­es envi­ron­men­tal compatibility. 

Technically integrated total solutions 

Tech­ni­cal­ly inte­grat­ed total solu­tions from a sin­gle source are also a top­ic at the booth: For exam­ple, a demo cell ‘Sin­gu­lar Con­trol’ with han­dling robot and Delta kine­mat­ics shows how machine builders and users can imple­ment robots in exist­ing archi­tec­tures with­out the need for a spe­cial pro­gram­ming device (teach­box) or a pro­pri­etary robot pro­gram­ming lan­guage. The motion sequence of the indi­vid­ual axes is cal­cu­lat­ed in the con­troller’s firmware. The pro­gram­mer can thus con­cen­trate entire­ly on the appli­ca­tion with­out hav­ing to wor­ry about the under­ly­ing com­plex technology.
