The internationally leading rating agency oekom research scrutinises the sustainability performance of companies from all over the world. In February, Krones once again received B- Prime status – for what is already the fourth time in succession.
172 industrial companies were assessed by oekom research, the majority of them being rated at D+. Only fewer than five per cent of these companies were awarded the maximum possible rating of B- and thus rank among the leading plant and machinery manufacturers in terms of sustainability.
The rating covers the company’s operations in regard to social responsibility and sustainable eco-management. These are weighted using more than 100 criteria specifically selected as relevant to the sector. The company performed particularly well in two categories: in the “staff” aspect, oekom research praised the opportunities for staff in terms of an equitable work-life balance, while in regard to “eco-efficiency”, the rating agency especially emphasised the responsible management of media and energy at Krones.
“The fact that this year we’ve again defended our B- Prime status is a notable success. The rating provides us with an independent appraisal that this year, too, confirms that we’re on the right track when it comes to sustainability,” to quote a gratified Nico Irrgang, CSR Project Coordinator.
