Recent accolades earned by the tech company include initiatives such as the Schneider Sustainability Impact (SSI), launched in 2005, which commits the company to its ambitious sustainability efforts over the long term and declares 11 specific goals by 2025. In addition, Schneider Electric has once again significantly expanded its Energy & Sustainability Services (ESS) and, not least, supports its suppliers in their efforts to halve their CO2 consumption by 2025.
The Fortune Ranking
Fortune’s annual ranking of the “World’s Most Admired Companies” is based on a survey of the global Fortune 500 companies with the largest sales in their respective industries. To determine the top performers in 52 industries, 3,820 CEOs, directors and analysts are asked to rate the companies on nine criteria. These include investment value, the quality of management and products, social responsibility and the ability to recruit new talent.
Multiple awards for sustainability
The designation as one of the world’s most respected companies follows a series of outstanding results in sustainability rankings: For example, winning the German Sustainability Award, being named to Corporate Knights’ Global 100 list of the world’s most sustainable companies for the eleventh year in a row, and again being included in the Climate Change A‑list of the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) or the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index.
