“The past year was both one of the most successful and most challenging for our association,” said Hermann Sperber, President of BTGA — Bundesindustrieverband Technische Gebäudeausrüstung e.V., at the opening of this year’s General Meeting in Saarbrücken in mid-October 2021.
“On the one hand, the association was able to broaden its thematic focus with the founding of the ‘Electrical Engineering’ department and further expand and digitalize its offerings in professional and further training. On the other hand, the year was characterized by informing our members in a timely and well-founded manner about policy measures against the consequences of the Corona pandemic.” In addition, he said, the active work also contributed to the fact that the TGA sector is now perceived by politicians and the public as part of the solution to the problems of the “corona pandemic” and “climate protection.”
“The BTGA is the reliable and competent voice of the TGA plant engineering sector for politics and administration. We take a stand vis-à-vis parliament and the ministerial bureaucracy, offer solutions and bring in the interests of the industry. Energy efficiency and climate protection policy must finally be actively shaped again — clear political guard rails must be set for this.”
- Günther Mertz, Chief Executive Officer
The general meeting unanimously decided that the association would donate 50,000 euros for aid in the regions particularly affected by the floods. President Hermann Sperber thanked the delegates for this gesture of solidarity and called on the organization’s members to actively join the fundraising campaign.
