Successful first year for “ABWASSER Talk

“Waste­water is our top­ic,” says engi­neer Klaus Jilg, who spe­cial­izes in inno­v­a­tive solu­tions for issues in the waste­water sec­tor. The list of cur­rent chal­lenges is long and includes con­t­a­m­i­nat­ed water, odor nui­sance, rodent and rat con­trol, cadas­tres for indi­rect dis­charg­ers, and sew­er inspec­tions using drones. “The Coro­na pan­dem­ic has done its part,” says Jilg. “With the “ABWASSER Talk” we want to show that there are alter­na­tive dig­i­tal ways to stay in touch with each oth­er and exchange ideas on cur­rent issues.”

In the mean­time, this net­work­ing for­mat has become a pop­u­lar meet­ing place for waste­water indus­try pro­fes­sion­als. “We are bub­bling over with ideas” says Daniel Jehring, engi­neer and pod­cast co-host of Klaus Jilg. “Infor­ma­tive and enter­tain­ing, we talk with col­leagues and experts about cur­rent top­ics in the waste­water indus­try and pro­vide back­ground infor­ma­tion,” says Jehring.

 

“We launched the pod­cast a year ago with the aim of talk­ing about top­ics in our indus­try in a com­plete­ly dif­fer­ent way. We don’t want to lec­ture, but talk with guests and experts in an enter­tain­ing way about top­ics in the indus­try, pro­vide back­ground infor­ma­tion and also shed light on com­pli­cat­ed areas. Our lis­ten­ers do not have to be experts. We are hap­py if they are there out of inter­est in the top­ic and per­haps want to learn some­thing new.”
