“Wastewater is our topic,” says engineer Klaus Jilg, who specializes in innovative solutions for issues in the wastewater sector. The list of current challenges is long and includes contaminated water, odor nuisance, rodent and rat control, cadastres for indirect dischargers, and sewer inspections using drones. “The Corona pandemic has done its part,” says Jilg. “With the “ABWASSER Talk” we want to show that there are alternative digital ways to stay in touch with each other and exchange ideas on current issues.”
In the meantime, this networking format has become a popular meeting place for wastewater industry professionals. “We are bubbling over with ideas” says Daniel Jehring, engineer and podcast co-host of Klaus Jilg. “Informative and entertaining, we talk with colleagues and experts about current topics in the wastewater industry and provide background information,” says Jehring.
“We launched the podcast a year ago with the aim of talking about topics in our industry in a completely different way. We don’t want to lecture, but talk with guests and experts in an entertaining way about topics in the industry, provide background information and also shed light on complicated areas. Our listeners do not have to be experts. We are happy if they are there out of interest in the topic and perhaps want to learn something new.”
