Entrance to a worldwide high-rise building

At 180 meters, the Grand Tow­er in Frank­furt is the tallest res­i­den­tial high-rise in Ger­many. Con­ve­nient and secure access to the ele­gant pre­mi­um-class build­ing is con­trolled by the Busch-Wel­come the Busch-Wel­come® IP door com­mu­ni­ca­tion sys­tem from Busch-Jaeger.
It forms a new attrac­tion in the sky­line of the bank­ing metrop­o­lis: The Tow­er ris­es 180 meters into the sky and is thus the high­est res­i­den­tial high-rise in Ger­many. The impos­ing struc­ture has 47 res­i­den­tial floors, a lob­by on the first floor and three tech­ni­cal floors under the roof. The 418 apart­ments, rang­ing in size from 60 to around 300 square meters, offer liv­ing com­fort that is hard to beat and ameni­ties that meet the high­est stan­dards. The concierge ser­vice in the lob­by is avail­able day and night.
 

Innovative door communication with Busch-Welcome® IP

In the same way that the mul­ti­ple award-win­ning build­ing meets the high­est archi­tec­tur­al stan­dards, the instal­la­tion tech­nol­o­gy here also ful­fills all the require­ments for smart and secure liv­ing. A spe­cial high­light is the inno­v­a­tive door com­mu­ni­ca­tion sys­tem with HD video com­mu­ni­ca­tion, which can be used for exte­ri­or, inte­ri­or and remote mon­i­tor­ing of res­i­den­tial and func­tion­al build­ings. Its user inter­face is con­sis­tent and intu­itive on all devices. Brushed stain­less steel and alu­minum paired with a shal­low instal­la­tion depth for flush and sur­face mount­ing high­light the sophis­ti­cat­ed design of the door com­mu­ni­ca­tion sys­tem. This is the most exten­sive instal­la­tion to date in Ger­many in a res­i­den­tial building.
 

Chip card to the building

The 24 out­door sta­tions grant res­i­dents access to the build­ing via a chip card in the park­ing garage, at the bar­ri­er and at build­ing doors. Guests reg­is­ter with the concierge via the sta­tions. After con­sul­ta­tion, they are tak­en direct­ly to their des­ti­na­tion floor by ele­va­tor. In par­tic­u­lar, the pos­si­bil­i­ty of bidi­rec­tion­al com­mu­ni­ca­tion between res­i­dents and concierge is a very use­ful function.

90 kilometers of data lines

Around 90 kilo­me­ters of data lines were laid for the elec­tri­cal instal­la­tion in the Grand Tow­er, of which 16 kilo­me­ters alone were for Busch-Wel­come® IP to con­trol 413 Busch-Wel­come® IP indoor and 24 out­door sta­tions, 16 Pow­er-over-Eth­er­net (POE) switch­es, eight data dis­trib­u­tors and 24 IP switch­ing actu­a­tors. In addi­tion to Busch-Wel­come® IP and the asso­ci­at­ed devices from Busch-Jaeger, sub-dis­trib­u­tors, cir­cuit break­ers and series instal­la­tion devices from ABB are used with­in the instal­la­tion. Just like Busch Wel­come® IP, they are char­ac­ter­ized by sim­ple instal­la­tion and quick com­mis­sion­ing. All in all, the Grand Tow­er offers top-class liv­ing com­fort with max­i­mum secu­ri­ty and per­fect tech­nol­o­gy in impres­sive architecture.
