New, versatile and sophisticated — pneumatic rotary actuator for valve automation

With 40 years of expe­ri­ence in automa­tion, the bar-agturn was devel­oped as a new pneu­mat­ic rotary actuator.
With its spe­cial design and great ver­sa­til­i­ty in tech­ni­cal char­ac­ter­is­tics, we meet the demands of plant plan­ners, plant engi­neers and users.
For each automa­tion of shut-off devices, the spec­trum of torques and swiv­el angles is cov­ered by 18 dif­fer­ent sizes and torques from 2 to 13,040 Nm. Dri­ve vari­ants cov­er var­i­ous appli­ca­tion possibilities.
 
Visu­al­ly and func­tion­al­ly, the focus is on qual­i­ty and safety.
The high-qual­i­ty pow­der-coat­ed cov­ers and the hous­ing coat­ing of hard anodized alu­minum enable use even in aggres­sive ambi­ent conditions.
Pre­cise­ly milled pis­ton teeth ensure smoother run­ning, opti­mum torque and low wear.
The mark­ing of impor­tant infor­ma­tion such as flange pat­terns, air con­nec­tions and ser­i­al num­ber has been clear­ly and unal­ter­ably achieved by laser engrav­ing on the actu­a­tor housing.
The use of iden­ti­cal caps for sin­gle-act­ing and dou­ble-act­ing actu­a­tors makes it tech­ni­cal­ly pos­si­ble to con­vert the vari­ants with­out hav­ing to replace the caps.
 
Vari­able selec­tion of com­mer­cial­ly avail­able attachments.
Via the stan­dard­ized inter­face VDI/VDE 3845, all posi­tion­ers and lim­it switch box­es wide­ly used in the mar­ket can be mount­ed. The posi­tion indi­ca­tor is already part of the prod­uct and equipped with vari­able clips to indi­cate the valve position.
The sole­noid valve inter­face is posi­tioned high on the pro­file for easy access and is opti­mized for mount­ing pilot valves. Anoth­er advan­tage of this posi­tion­ing is that it does not inter­fere with the valve flange.

For each actu­a­tor size, 2 ISO flange pat­terns are avail­able in most cas­es for flex­i­ble valve automation.
The pin­ion with octag­o­nal con­nec­tion adapts a par­al­lel or diag­o­nal stem ori­en­ta­tion of the valve and ensures a space-sav­ing actu­a­tor design.
The end posi­tion adjust­ment for the pre­cise set­ting of the valves is arranged accord­ing­ly and eas­i­ly acces­si­ble on the oppo­site side of the sole­noid valve con­nec­tion. Opti­mum adjust­ment of the valve is pos­si­ble with any swiv­el angles of 90°, 120°, 135° and 180°.
 
Cer­ti­fi­ca­tions and spe­cial ver­sions for the all-round care­free package
The actu­a­tors are also avail­able as ver­sions for high and low tem­per­a­ture appli­ca­tions. Option­al hydraulic damp­ing improves process sequences. As an entire series, the bar-agturn has been cer­ti­fied accord­ing to SIL 3. In addi­tion, EAC cer­ti­fi­ca­tion has been achieved for the actu­a­tors as well as for auto­mat­ed valves for the ATEX area.
