The function of drinking water installations must be checked regularly. Water temperatures, for example, must be recorded and documented as part of a hazard analysis at the tapping points. Those responsible in public institutions, hospitals, nursing homes, but also landlords or the housing industry are often faced with a major bureaucratic challenge and a constant need for training for those carrying out the work due to the many guidelines that must be observed.
The new AFRISO TOOLBOX app promises to help here and offers relief for everyday measurement with the smart CAPBs® sensor module FlowTemp® ST as a flow and temperature measuring device. The app for iOs and Android is literally like a toolbox that simplifies the professional execution of many complex measuring or testing tasks in the field of building services installation and makes them possible quickly via smartphone or tablet. For the market launch, the in-apps “Temperature Profile” and “Thermal Disinfection” will be presented, which will enormously facilitate the daily work of hygiene officers, disinfectors, janitors or installers.
Already in the office, in the run-up to the measurement, the corresponding buildings can be created in the app with their rooms, floors, individual water tapping points and additional information. If one is responsible for the management of several buildings or if the measurements are carried out for other companies, this data can also be assigned to the building.
At the location of the measurement, the person performing the measurement then accesses the data directly and is guided through the respective rooms to the water tapping points to be measured in the so-called “measurement with order”. If rooms or measuring points have been forgotten during the pre-configuration, they can be added at any time later. For the actual measuring process, the flow and temperature measuring device FlowTemp® ST is connected directly to the smartphone.
Like all other CAPBs® modular sensor modules, FlowTemp® ST uses the Bluetooth® Smart interface available in smartphones or tablets for this purpose. After successful connection, the recorded measurement data can be transmitted wirelessly and without delay. The app guides the user “step by step” through the measurement and provides precise information on the necessary procedure of the work step — in accordance with the respective current standards and regulations.
