The application fields of our microbubble generator keep growing beyond flotation. In the area of “gas transfer” we have recently been awarded a project in aquaculture, where five Micro Gas 480 units will be installed to diffuse ozone for tertiary disinfection.
Within aquaculture, ozone is used in conjunction with RAS (Recirculating Aquaculture Systems). The use of ozone with re-circulating water in aquaculture systems allows the user to benefit from a greater productivity, greater flexibility in site selection, reduced water usage, substantially improved water quality and reduced level of waterborne diseases.
Ozone is responsible for:
- Removal of organics (DOC/COD/BOD), pesticides, nitrates and pharmaceutical residuals.
- Oxidation of long chain molecules, which are unaffected by biofiltration.
- Enhances the efficiency of downstream biological and particulate filtration.
Features and benefits of Micro Gas for ozonation:
- High ozone transfer efficiency — reduced contact times and no harmful residuals are left behind.
- Low maintenance & simple operation
- Reduced footprint — no need for pump and injector, Micro Gas units are installed within the tank.
