In addi­tion to its well-known and proven prod­ucts, Pepperl+Fuchs offers an agile devel­op­ment part­ner for inno­v­a­tive IoT solu­tions in the form of its sub­sidiary, Neoception.

IIoT for Process Automation

As part of “IIoT for Process Automa­tion,” Remote I/O from Pepperl+Fuchs is used to map field devices—such as con­trol valves and flow mea­sur­ing instruments—in exist­ing plants, along with all rel­e­vant data, in the SAP Cloud Plat­form. The par­al­lel trans­mis­sion path is com­plete­ly inde­pen­dent from the con­trol sys­tem con­nec­tion and there­fore com­plies with the Namur Open Archi­tec­ture framework.

Ethernet for Process Automation

“APL—Ethernet for Process Automa­tion” brings Eth­er­net con­nec­tiv­i­ty to every aspect of every plant. The two-wire cable (cable type A), famil­iar from Profibus PA, serves as a phys­i­cal lay­er for Eth­er­net, allow­ing the use of all estab­lished pro­to­cols such as HTTP, FTP, etc. with a trans­fer rate of 10 Mbit/s. The robust line can bridge dis­tances of up to 2000 m, while also sup­ply­ing field devices, even in explo­sion-haz­ardous areas up to Zone 0/Div. 1.

Connecting Any Field Device

Using the con­cept devel­oped by Neo­cep­tion and CodeWrights, data from any field device can be very quick­ly made avail­able on a data plat­form. No com­plex engi­neer­ing process­es are required and the users do not need in-depth knowl­edge of the trans­mis­sion tech­nol­o­gy, allow­ing them to con­cen­trate ful­ly on select­ing and eval­u­at­ing parameters.
