Online Measurement of Bromine

Jumo is expand­ing its prod­uct range of mem­brane-cov­ered amper­o­met­ric sen­sors for liq­uid analy­sis with­in the frame­work of com­plet­ing its port­fo­lio of dig­i­tal sen­sors. A new fea­ture of the tecLine Br is a bromine sen­sor for gen­er­al water disinfection. 
Bromine is a halo­gen that is excep­tion­al­ly well-suit­ed for dis­in­fect­ing aque­ous media. It is effec­tive against bac­te­ria, virus­es, and fun­gi while at the same time remov­ing pol­lu­tants in water through oxi­da­tion. The dis­in­fec­tion effect is only slight­ly weak­er than with chlo­rine. Using bromine sig­nif­i­cant­ly reduces irri­ta­tions for eyes and mucous mem­branes. Bromine has a high­er pH tol­er­ance and, in con­trast to chlo­rine, still works very well at ph val­ues around 8.
The new Jumo tecLine Br sen­sors are used for mea­sur­ing the bromine con­cen­tra­tion. They dis­tin­guish them­selves through a proven mea­sur­ing sys­tem, easy cal­i­bra­tion, and inte­grat­ed tem­per­a­ture com­pen­sa­tion. A dig­i­tal inter­face allows the new bromine sen­sor to be inte­grat­ed into the dig­i­Line analy­sis sen­sor network.
One vari­ant with stan­dard sig­nal 4 to 20 mA enables use with con­ven­tion­al dis­play and con­trol devices. The con­struc­tion of the sen­sor is equiv­a­lent to the proven, mem­brane-cov­ered amper­o­met­ric mea­sur­ing cells from Jumo. In addi­tion, the same acces­sories (such as a mul­ti-fit­ting) can be used.
Mea­sure­ment, dos­ing, and record­ing devices for bromine can be found in the Aquis touch S and P con­troller fam­i­lies as well as the mTRON T automa­tion sys­tem. The vari­ant with 4 to 20 mA can also be con­nect­ed to the Aquis 500 AS or dTRANS AS02 devices.
